Overview

Our Motor Claims Department is growing, and we’re looking for a versatile and analytically minded Motor Claims Adjuster [Liability and Cost Control] to join our team on a full-time basis

This dynamic role blends responsibilities across liability handling and cost control, offering an excellent opportunity to broaden your insurance experience in a collaborative environment. 

About the role:

The chosen candidate will support the full claims process, from handling initial queries to assisting with investigations and settling claims. They will work across different functions within the department, ensuring smooth and efficient claims handling for customers and partners. Main responsibilities include: 

- Registering claims and maintaining accurate records.

- Handling queries via telephone, email, and in person from customers, intermediaries, and third parties. 

- Initiating and following up on claim recoveries from third parties and insurers.

- Booking and coordinating motor surveys, and processing surveyor reports.

- Organising vehicle damage assessments and maintaining related documentation.

- Liaising with staff, customers, and suppliers regarding vehicle repairs, and other cost control issues.

- Accepting liability for claims falling within designated authority limits, and escalating others as necessary.

- Assisting with investigations and processing motor claims, including total loss and cash settlement claims. 

- Reviewing claims received from branches and intermediaries. 

- Monitoring and reporting on outstanding claims. 

- Managing settlements, collecting policy excesses, issuing receipts and debit notes, and reconciling daily cash. 

What we’re looking for: 

We’re seeking someone adaptable, organised, and confident in dealing with clients, suppliers, brokers, and other stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate has: 

- MQF Level 4 or higher (A Levels or equivalent) 

- Experience in the insurance sector, either in client-facing or back-office roles [preference will be given to candidates with experience in motor insurance] 

- CII qualifications or plans to pursue them (preferred) 

- Excellent communication skills in both Maltese and English

- A proactive, team-oriented mindset and professional attitude 

- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing responsibilities with ease
